The Allen-Bradley 1756-IV16 digital sourcing I/O module is manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. The 1756-IV16 input module comes with 16 inputs available in 2 groups, and 8 points in a group. It is compatible and it works with the ControlLogix 1756 chassis, it needs a detachable terminal block frame, or RTB, that can be the 1756-TBSH or the 1756-TBNH, before attaching it to the chassis. With the RSLogix 5000, a change of state can be configured, and so can the input filter times for the 1756-IV16 module. Only the input data format can be used by this module. The operating voltage for the 1756-IV16 module ranges between 10 and 30 Volts DC. It has a 12 to 24 Volts DC source voltage category, with a nominal input voltage of 24 Volts DC. The total backplane power is 0.61 Watts, with a maximum inrush current of 250 mA.

The 1756-IV16 module has a maximum input impedance of 3.2 kΩ at 30 Volts DC, and a maximum power dissipation of 5.1 Watts at 60 degrees Celsius, with a thermal dissipation of 18.47 BTU/hour. The module structures a continuous isolation voltage of 250 Volts. In an off-state, the 1756-IV16 has a maximum voltage of 5 Volts DC as well as a maximum current of 1.5 mA. When the module is in an on-state, it has a current range of as low as 2 mA at 10 Volts DC and a maximum of 10 mA at 30 Volts DC. The 1756-IV16 module comes equipped with a screw to the backplane input delay time. The variation depends on whether it is going from ‘off' to 'on' or vice versa. When going from 'off' to 'on', the input delay time is the hardware delay with a nominal time of 280 microseconds along with a maximum time of 1 millisecond plus the user-selectable filter time (which is either 0 milliseconds, 1 millisecond, or 2 milliseconds). When going from 'on' to 'off, the input delay time is the hardware delay time has a nominal of 540 microseconds along with a maximum of 2 milliseconds. In addition, there is the user-selectable filter time (1 millisecond, 2 milliseconds, 9 milliseconds, or 18 milliseconds).
