The 1771-OBN is a DC output module from Rockwell automation/ Allen Bradley. The module has sourcing outputs that cater for a positive voltage path. The 1771-OBN has 32 outputs divided into 4 groups of 8. The module occupies a slot in the 1717 Input Output chassis apart from the 1771-A2, 1771-A1, and the 1771-A4 I/O chassis. The 1771-WN field wiring arm is used to make connections to the module. The 1771-OBN exerts a load of 330 milliamperes on the backplane at a maximum voltage of 5 volts. The maximum and minimum power dissipation rating for the 1771-OBN is 13.7 and 1.7 watts respectively. Additionally, the module has a thermal dissipation rating of 5.7 and 46.7 minimum and maximum respectively. The 1771-OBN module has a per output and per module maximum output current of 2 Amperes and 8 Amperes respectively plus 2 amperes per each output group. For 10 milliseconds, the 1771-OBN module has a surge current (max) of 20A/module, 2A/output, and 5A per output group repeatable every 2 seconds. At 55 degrees Celsius, the module has an off-state leakage current of 1 milliampere (maximum) and at 0.5 amperes, the 1771-OBN module has a an on-state voltage drop (maximum) of 1.5 Volts.

The 1771-OBN module has an output signal delay of 2 milliseconds and o.1 milliseconds for on-off and off-on respectively. The module’s isolation voltage is tested at 1500 Volts AC RMS. Also, the module has one fuse (4.0A, 250 Volts) per output group making it a total of 4 fuses per the entire module. For keying, the module utilizes pins 14 to 16 and 20 to 22. When handling the 1771-OBN module, proper grounding should be observed to minimize the effects of electrostatic charges. The module has a per output power dissipation rating (maximum) of 0.75 Watts.
