The 1771-ODD is a digital isolated output module from Allen Bradley. The module is meant to be installed in an Input Output chassis preferably the 1771 I/O chassis. At a voltage of 5 volts, the module draws a maximum current of 420 milliamperes from the backplane. Also, the 1771-ODD module has 16 output channels which are individually fused.  The 1771-ODD module operates at a voltage of between 85 and 136 volts alternating current. Connections to the module are made through the 1771-WN wiring module which also minimizes the wiring needs when replacing the 1771-ODD module or any other component attached to it.

The 1771-ODD digital isolated output module has a per output current (continuous, maximum) of 2 Amperes. The entire module should not exceed an output current of 8 Amperes. The 1771-ODD has a 2500 volts isolation voltage tested for one second according to the UL508 & CSA C22.2 #142 standards. When not in use, the module should be stored at a temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees and a shock rating not exceeding 50g. To avoid the performance of the module from fluctuating, the 1771-ODD should be operated at an industrial environment with a relative humidity greater than 5 but less than 95 percent and at temperatures between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius.

To help in monitoring and troubleshooting, the 1771-ODD has 33 LED status indicator on the front of the module. The 16 LED indicators on the left side cater for the individual status of each channel. The first indicator on the right side cater for the ACTIVE status of the module while the remaining 16 below the ACTIVE indicator are the fuse blown indicators.

Note that the individual output channel indicators are powered by the logic circuitry of the 1771-ODD module while the blown fuse indicators are powered by the AC power supply. The ACTIVE indicator indicates a successful power up and initialization. The module has an on-state voltage drop of 6.5V rms at a load current not exceeding 65 milliamperes and 1.5V rms on a load current greater than 65 milliamperes. At 120V AC the 1771-ODD has a leakage current (off-state) of 1.5mA and 3.0mA at 138V. Additionally, the maximum load current (on-state) is 10 milliamperes.
