The 1771-OZC is a former digital I/O relay contact output module, manufactured and designed by Allen-Bradley to operate with the 1771 series of digital I/O drives. This contact output module is compatible with chassis styles A and B. The Allen-Bradley 1771-OZC digital I/O relay contact output module features flexibility, source power and an output isolation. The Allen-Bradley 1771-OZC digital I/O relay contact output module is the former version of the current 1771-OZ. This contact output module operates with a voltage rating that goes from 0 to 24 Volts AC and from 0 to 24 Volts DC. It has a maximum voltage of 30 Volts at 138 Volts AC and 20 Volts at 125 Volts DC, a backplane current of 420 milliamperes and a maximum current of 0.1 Amps.

The kind of relays used by this terminal receive power through the chassis backplane from the chassis power supply. In order to connect the contact output module in an effective way with the chassis, a wiring arm is required. This wiring arm will offer mobility and safety to all the connections of the contact output module with the chassis. The Allen-Bradley 1771-OZC digital I/O relay contact output module has dry-reed relays which are the fastest relays but it only allows the module to operate on low-voltage and low-power applications. Being hermetically sealed, they can be used on noxious environments. With this kind of relay, surges must be avoided in order to preserve and extend their life. Another great way to extend the life of the module and relays is to maintain operations at temperatures lower than 60 degrees Celsius and by not exceeding the maximum switching frequency of the module.
