The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1771-WF field wiring arm is designed for use with isolated analog input modules from the 1771-IL (Series B) line. This PLC-5 field wiring arm has gold contact plating and it supports up to 8 I/O connection points and 18 terminals. The wiring arms also have a screw torque of 7 to 9 pounds on an inch. The usage of the wiring arm makes the connection process between the module and the wiring of a plant smooth and flexible, in addition to further improving the connection’s integrity. This Allen-Bradley wiring arm does not require an external power source and it has an AC and DC voltage delay of 29 and 30 milliseconds, respectively.
The 1771-WF wiring arm is 114.3 millimeters (4.5 inches) wide, 314.9 millimeters (12.4 inches) high, and 160 millimeters (6.3 inches) deep. The thermoplastic outer shell of this unit is not only suitable for industrial use, but it is also very light - the part weighs only 100 grams (0.2 pounds). Like other wiring arms from the 1771 series, the 1771-WF arm is additionally protected with a standard industrial conformal coating. This model has low-resistance in typical applications. The standard environmental conditions for the rugged devices from the 1771 series include an operational temperature between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius (32 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit), a storage temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 and 185 degrees Fahrenheit), and the ability to work at a non-condensing relative humidity range of 5 to 95%. When connecting the 1771-WF to the input device, the wiring arm should be attached to the pivot bar at the bottom of the chassis. One of the main advantages of using the wiring arm is that the module can be easily installed or removed without disconnecting the wires.
