The 1772-LXP mini processor has an advanced processor with a self contained 120 to 220 Volt AC power supply, a mode select key switch, and diagnostic indicators. The online data change and online programming capabilities exist as special features for this processor, which also comes with selectable timed interrupt that enables recurring subroutine, data highway interface, report generation and a full I/O forcing when using 2-slot addressing. The memory size of the 1772-LXP is 4000 words (RAM), while the EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory) is also 4000 words. Each of these devices has a self-contained lithium battery that can maintain memory for 1 year with no AC applied to the processor. The battery backup hardware feature helps users protect stored memory. The PROC indicator lights green for normal operation and red for a processor fault; if the light is off, this indicates that you are in Program Mode or a possible run-time error. If the battery indicator lights red, it points out that the battery should be replaced.

Additionally, the interface port allows users to connect information sources. There’s also a key switch that has four positions, which are PROG: Program, R/P: Run/Program, RUN: Run, and MEM STORE: Transfer program to MEM STORE backup EEPROM. The main features of the 1772-LXP processor include the I/O chassis, the power supply, and as many as 16 I/O modules. This processor’s features include memory and data tables, and memory protection above the word address of 177 grams. To properly handle and install the processor, ensure that you determine a good location since the operating temperature of the 1772-LXP is between 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. This processor must be separated from any other equipment and plant walls to allow for convection cooling. Since the processor is an electrical system and is vulnerable to dust and dirt, make every effort to limit the processor to dirt, dust, and soot.
