The Allen-Bradley 1785-L11B is a Standard PLC-5/11 Processor with a memory of 8 Kilowords. The 1785-L11B Processor has 1 DH+ port and universal remote I/O. For a universal remote, the maximum number of I/O chassis that can be supported is 4. It combines 1 RS-232-C/422-A/423-A Port(s) and it runs on a backplane current load of 5 Volts at 2.3 Amps. The Allen-Bradley 1785-L11B is a member of the PLC-5 Programmable Controller series. It has a programmable controller in the central part of its control system. The processor connects I/O modules for local, remote, and extended devices on various types of communication interfaces. The 1785-L11B controller helps in creating a control system suitable for essential process control applications.

The 1785-L11B features remote I/O or 1 built-in port for a DH+ device. The DH+ network is for remote monitoring and programming. The 1785-L11B can create peer-to-peer communication for different types PLC-5 controllers. The remote I/O connection gives real-time data exchange for I/O, as well as an operator interface. The 1785-L11B is equipped with numerous indicators on the front panel for displaying the various statuses of the controller itself. The indicator marked BATT is for the battery and it glows red when the battery is low. The indicator marked PROC is the controller, the RUN/FAULT indicator is always red when there is any fault and green when the processor is in RUN mode. The FORCE indicator glows amber when the I/O forces are activated. The COMM indicator is the Channel 0 communication status indicator which is always green when the channel is in communication. The Channel 1A status indicator shows the status of Channel 1A.
