The Allen Bradley 1746-IN16 is an SLC 500 24 Volt AC/DC sinking Input Module. It dissipates heat at 0.35 Watts per point and has 0.425 Watts at minimum and 6 at maximum. It has 16 inputs translating to 16 points per common and operates at a voltage between 10 and 30 Volts DC (sinking) and 10 to 30 Volts AC.
The 1746-IN16, with a backplane current consumption standing at 0.085 A at 5 Volts DC has a maximum signal delay in both its on and off states of 15 milliseconds for a DC current, and 25 milliseconds for an AC current. It has an 8-milliamp nominal input current at 24 Volts AC/DC, dropping a maximum of 3 Volts of AC voltage when in the AC off state and 3 Volts of DC voltage when in the DC off state. It also leaks 1mA of current in the off state for both AC and DC.
The 1746-IN16 gives electro-optical isolation tested at 1500 Volts between input terminals. It comes equipped with removable terminal blocks and can be used with a 20 conductor 1492-CABLE RTBB, which can be ordered in the standard lengths of 0.5, 1.0, 2.5 and 5 meters. The 1746-IN16 is used as a general purpose 16 channel input module and can thus be used with the 1746-SIM Input Simulator.
The 1746-IN16 is a powerful input module that has an advanced instruction set and can be configured or troubleshooted using RSLogix 500 programming software. It meets the standards for use in industrial environments, which includes being able to withstand temperatures of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius while operating and -40 to 85 degrees Celsius while in storage. This module is available in series A through to D.
