The Allen Bradley 1746-NO8I SLC 500 Analog output module is part of the Allen Bradley SLC 500 series. The 1746-NO8I is just a single version of the SLC 500 8-point Analog Output Module. This unit has removable block terminals and still provides connection for 8 analog output channels. It is uniquely designed for connections to the analog voltage and current devices, with eight (8) provided channels for output voltage although it does not contain an input channel.

 

The 1746-NO8I does not contain a DIP switch. A J4 or a Jumper may be required to selected whether the SLC backplane will be supplied by 24 Volts of DC (Direct Current) or by an external, optional 24 Volts of power. The SLC 500 chassis is used to provide power to this module from either the 5 Volt DC or the 24 Volt DC power supply. In the case of a 24 Volt supply, this power also supplies the analog circuit module while the SLC circuit is supplied by the 5 Volt DC supply backplane.

 

The 1746-NO8I output module consumes a maximum backplane current of 120 mA at 5 Volts DC while at 24 Volts, the Direct Current of this module consumes 250 mA. Before installing the jumper, turn off the entire power system.

 

Each terminal on this module requires a wire no larger than 24 AWG and no smaller than 14. Its output has a range of 0 mA up to approximately 21.5 mA, and its proportional scaling can reach (from 0) up to 32,767.

 

With a step response of one (1) millisecond, a 540 microsecond update time and a resolution of 16 bits in and 14 bits out, this module has an output impedance of at least 1 M Ohm.


For protection of the module’s functions, do not operate this unit in a temperature zone lower or higher than -13 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. While being stored, this unit should stay in a temperature zone of approximately -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit.
