Product Description

IC694ALG222 is a 16-Channel Analog Voltage Input Module manufactured by GE Fanuc that provides 16 single-ended (or eight) differential input channels.
Each channel can be configured using configuration software for either input range options: 0 to 10 V (unipolar) or default -10 to +10 V (bipolar). High/low alarm limits can also be configured for unipolar or bipolar ranges. The IC694ALG222 can be installed in any I/O slot of an RX3i system.

Location of the IC694ALG222 module is important when identifying the appropriate power source. If the
IC694ALG222 module is located in a Universal Backplane, an external source of Isolated +24 VDC is needed. The external source should be connected using the TB1 connector on the left side of the backplane. If the module is in an Expansion Backplane, the power supply provides the Isolated +24 VDC.

Status information is indicated by the MODULE OK LED on power-up. ON means the status is OK, and the module is configured. OFF means there is no backplane power, or the software is not running (in other words, the watchdog timer has timed out. If the LED displays continuous rapid flashing, this suggests that configuration data is not being received from the CPU. Slow flashing followed by OFF indicates failed power-up diagnostics or a code execution error. The Module P/S LED confirms that the module’s +5 VDC supply meets the minimum designated level.

Customer Questions and Answers

  • Question:  What is an IC694ALG222?  Answer:  The IC694ALG222 is a 16/8 Channel, Voltage, Analog Input module from the GE Fanuc RX3i Series.
  • Question:  What does IC694ALG222 provide?  Answer:  This module provides 16 single-ended or 8 differential input channels.
  • Question:  For what 2 ranges can each channel be configured using the configuration software?  Answer:
    • 0 to 10 V (unipolar), default
    • -10 to +10 V (bipolar)
  • Question:  Can high and low alarm limits be configured for both ranges?  Answer:  Yes, they can.
  • Question:  Into what slot can IC694ALG222 be installed, in an RX3i system?  Answer:  This module can be installed in any I/O slot of an RX3i system.
  • Question:  If the module is located in an RX3i Universal Backplane- what then?  Answer:  Then that means an external source of isolated +24 VDC is required to provide power for the module.
  • Question:  How must the external source be connected?  Answer:  The external source must be connected via the TB1 connector on the left side of the backplane.
  • Question:  If IC694ALG222 is located in an Expansion Backplane- what then?  Answer:  Then the backplane's power supply provides the isolated +24 VDC for IC694ALG222.
  • Question:  What do the LEDs on IC694ALG222 indicate?  Answer:
    • ON: status is OK, module configured
    • OFF: no backplane power or software not running (watchdog timer timed out)
    • Continuous rapid flashing: configuration data not received from CPU
    • Slow flashes, then OFF: failed power-up diagnostics or encountered code execution error
    • The Module P/S LED indicates that the module's internally generated +5 VDC supply is above a minimum designated level
  • Question:  What should I do if my IC694ALG222 is not working properly?  Answer:  Your IC694ALG222 may need repair
