Introducing GE-IP PACSystems with PROFINET
GE-IP, the leading company in combining open standards into spectacular solutions is taking the next step in Ethernet based I/O systems. Introducing PACSystems with integrated real time PROFINET, a global open protocol over standard Ethernet.
Ethernet solutions are flattening the plant structure and allowing vast amounts of real time data to flow from the device to business applications. This strategy lowers maintenance costs and increases network serviceability. Industrial Ethernet is the ability to provide the real time control over this open infrastructure. The issue has been how to provide the vast functionality over the standard in an easy to implement and maintenance way. PACSystems provides the perfect control platform for adding open standards in a user friendly environment.
PACSystems with PROFINET sets a new standard for integration of open systems, providing the user clear benefits now and easier migration to new technology in the future!
The PACSystems RX3i PROFINET Controller (PNC) module connects a PACSystems RX3i controller to a high-speed LAN for I/O device control. The PNC module provides all the functions and services running at speeds up to 1Gbps.
The VersaMax PROFINET Scanner (PNS) module interfaces a remote node of VersaMax I/O modules to a PROFINET IO Controller. The PNS is available in two versions, copper and fiber, allowing you to use the network media that meets the requirements of your application. Built-in switch technology cuts out additional hardware required. Simply plug in and start to work!
RX3i CPE310 – Drop in replacement for CPU310
GE Intelligent Platforms is redesigning the RX3i IC695CPU310 with even more advanced technology. The new design will reduce maintenance, increase performance and protect backward compatibility. Key new features for the new CPU are built-in Ethernet, a USB master service port and battery-less dynamic data retention. The new controller is an environmentally friendly design that requires less energy and generates less heat than the previous design while at the same time providing more than three times the performance of the previous CPU. The Energy PAC battery-less design allows dynamic data and program changes to be retained and therefore eliminates the need to recycle depleted batteries. The new IC695CPE310 is a drop in replacement for the CPU310 and is target for an end of third quarter 2011 release..
