Features of the 1788-EN2DNROM linking device include I/O tables that act as centralized storage spaces for the data that is shared between the networks through the linking device. Additionally, the 1788-EN2DNROM linking device does not need any extended or special protocols to connect to either the Ethernet/IP network or the DeviceNet network. The standard industrial communication protocols are sufficient to provide the connection. The 1788-EN2DNROM linking device can accommodate CIP Safety connections and Device Level Ring connections. This device can be mounted directly onto the machine or a panel with a screw torque of 10 pounds on an inch.
