The 1762-IQ16 is a MicroLogix I/O expansion module. This module features Sixteen (16) input channels with each channel operating at voltage category of 24VDC. This module supports sinking and sourcing wiring configuration and has Two (2) input groups of Eight (8) channels each. Input group 1 is composed of channels 0, 1, ,2 ,3 ,4 ,5 ,6 ,7 while Group 2 include channels 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15. This module is supported by MicroLogix Controllers such as MicroLogix 1100, MicroLogix 1200 and MicroLogix 1400. This expansion module features a rackless design with integrated finger-safe terminal and provided with writable labels to record and mark channel designations. Up to Four (4) 1762-IQ16 may be used with a MicroLogix 1100, Six (6) with MicroLogix 1200 and Seven (7) for MicroLogix 1400. This module is configured using RSLogix 500 Programming software. This module requires to be defined in the I/O configuration of the software where configurable parameters are available such as input filtering may be defined. When configured using the programming software, the input channel addresses are accessible via the input data file. This module occupies Sixteen (16) bits or 1 Word. Each bit are Read only type. Each channel of the module may be used to integrate switching or binary operating devices, with ON/OFF positions only. By wiring signaling devices such as switches, sensors, auxiliary contacts, and other electrical and electronic switching devices. Each channel of the 1762-IQ16 has individual ON signal delay of 8.0 ms and OFF signal delay of 8.0 ms. It has a minimum ON state voltage of 10VDC and maximum OFF state voltage 5VDC.The maximum OFF state current is 1.5 mA and ON state current which varies depending on the voltage level. This module does not require an external power supply. It draws power to the backplane via the provided flat ribbon cable. The moduleÕs current draw is 70 mA @ 5V DC (0.35 W). It has a heat dissipation of 5.4 Total Watts @ 30V DC or 4.3 Total Watts @ 26.4V DC. The 1762-IQ16 is installed along the main MicroLogix module. This module supports DIN rail installation. Appropriate DIN rail for this module measures 35 x 7.5 mm (EN 50 022 - 35 x 7.5) or 35 x 15 mm (EN 50 022 - 35 x 15). Direct panel mounting is also supported. Panel mounting method is best used when an increased shock and vibration is present. This module has an operating vibration and shock ratings of 5 g @ 10... 500 Hz and 30 g respectively. The moduleÕs dimension is 90 x 40.4 x 87 mm (3.54 x 1.59 x 3.43 in.) and weighs 230g (8.11oz). Maintain Two (2) inches clearance on all sides of the module to promote proper air flow and natural cooling. Use #14 - 22 AWG Solid wire or #16 - 22 AWG Stranded wire when terminating signal wires to the module. Recommended insulation rating is Cu-90 ¡C (194 ¡F) and required terminal screw torque is 0.90 Nm (8 lb-in.).
