The 1762-IQ8OW6 is a MicroLogix combination I/O expansion module that is compatible for installation with MicroLogix 1100, MicroLogix 1200 and MicroLogix 1400. This module is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It features Eight (8) 24VDC input channels with One (1) group of input channels from 0, 1, ,2 ,3 ,4 ,5 ,6 ,7. The channel group support sinking and sourcing wiring configuration with internally connected commons. The output of module is in the form of Normally Open (N.O.) dry contacts or Form A contacts. This module may be used in combination with other 1762 MicroLogix I/O expansion module where up to Four (4) Expansion I/O can be installed with MicroLogix 1100, Six (6) with MicroLogix 1200 and Seven (7) with MicroLogix 1400. The 1762-IQ8OW6 is a cost-effective solution as it occupies only a single of any supported MicroLogix hardware while providing combination I/O. The input channels of this module is activated by a Voltage range of 10-26.4V DC @ 30 ¡C (86 ¡F) or 10-30V DC @ 65 ¡C (149 ¡F). The ON and OFF signal delays of each channel measures 8 ms while the minimum ON state voltage is 10VDC and maximum OFF state voltage is 5VDC. The output channels have Six (6) individual commons to allow each channels to be wired with a mix of operating voltages. The output channels have a maximum ON Delay signal of 10 ms while the OFF delay time is rated at 10 ms as well. The input channels of the 1762-IQ8OW6 are used for integrating Two-position switching instruments particularly ON/OFF devices. Some of these devices field instruments switches such as switches, sensors, auxiliary contacts and other similar devices. The output module offers a distinct advantage of being compatible to any voltage category thus, may be used to energize any device or equipment regardless of the required operating voltage. Compatible output devices are magnetic contactors, pilot lamps, relays, solenoid, Variable Frequency Dives (VFD), Motor starters, Solenoid actuated valves and other actuating devices. The continuous current rating of each channel depends on the operating voltage. For 24VDC operation, Continuous Current is 2.0 A, for 1.0 A for 125VDC and 2.5 A for 120 / 240 VAC Voltage operation. This module creates a 16-Bit input register, with registers 0-7 represent the physical input channels. The output channels create a 16-bit output register with the physical outputs represented by bits 0-5. The input bits are read only while the output bits support Read/Write operation. The remaining bits are unused but remained assigned to the module. The input and output registers may be viewed in binary, decimal, octal, hexadecimal format. The I/O registers are accessible using the RSLogix 500 programming software. This software is the common software for MicroLogix and SLC Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). It supports ladder programming language and compatible with different Microsoft Operating systems such as Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10. This module support DIN rail or direct panel mounting installation method. Maintain 50.88 mm or 2-inches clearance on all sides of the module when installing to promote adequate air flow.
