The 1762-IT4 is an analog expansion module that belongs to the 1762 MicroLogix product family. This module is especially designed for use with Temperature and displacement measurement applications. This module has Four (4) channels with a Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) Terminal that accepts Thermocouple inputs or millivolt signals. This module is compatible for installation with MicroLogix 1100, 1200 and 1400 controllers. This module accepts inputs signals from a variety of Thermocouple devices such as Thermocouple Type J; Thermocouple Type N; Thermocouple Type N; Thermocouple Type T; Thermocouple Type K; Thermocouple E; Thermocouple Type S; Thermocouple Type R; Thermocouple Type C and Thermocouple Type B while compatible millivolt signals include ±50 mV and ±100 mV. Thermocouple Type J has a measuring range of -210 to +1200¡C or -346 to +2192¡F; Type K has -270 to +1370¡C or 454 to +2498¡F; Type T has -270 to +400¡C or -454 to +752¡F; Type E has -270 to +1000¡C or -454 to +1832¡F; Type R has 0 to +1768¡C or +32 to +3214¡F; Type S has 0 to +1768¡C or +32 to +3214¡F; Type B has +300 to +1820¡C or +572 to +3308¡F; Type N has -210 to +1300¡C or -346 to +2372¡F and Type C has 0 to +2315¡C or +32 to + 4199¡F. Input signals are automatically converted to digital format via the integrated Delta-Sigma conversion with resolution of 15 bits plus sign. This module has programmable notch filters with available selections of 10, 50, 60, 250, 500 and 1k Hz frequencies. Each channel of the module exhibits a maximum open-circuit detection time of 7ms-1.515 seconds. The CJC accuracy is ±1.3 ¡C or ±2.34 ¡F. The converted signal is stored to the moduleÕs process image and may be assigned with data formats such as engineering units x1, engineering units x10, scaled for PID, percent of full-scale and raw/proportional data. Each channel supports differential wiring, with the integrated Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) to enable accurate readings. This module supports DIN rail or Panel Mounting application. Use DIN rail that measures 35 x 7.5 mm (EN 50 022 - 35 x 7.5) or 35 x 15 mm (EN 50 022 - 35 x 15). Panel Mounting is the ideal installation method for enclosures experiencing a higher rating of vibration or shock, not exceeding the operating vibration and shock of 10É500 Hz, 5 g, 0.030 in. max. peak-to-peak and 30 g, respectively. When placing the module along the MicroLogix base, position the module away from power supply source, electrical noise such as switches, relay and AC motors and away from devices with a signification heat dissipation. It is also recommended to route analog wiring away from high-voltage wiring. Additionally, install this module with 2 inches spacing from enclosure, adjacent or nearby device, wireways and other components. The specified spacing is designed for adequate spacing and ventilation. The 1762-IT8 along the MicroLogix controller only support horizontal mounting. The module is provided with a LED indicator to indicate a successfully powered device, passed internal self-test and bus communication is established.
