The MicroLogix 1200 controller with catalog number 1762-L24AWA is a product of Allen-Bradley used to implement automation if micro and small automation requirements. This product is a Programmable Logic controller (PLC) typically used in pharmaceutical, food and beverage, material handling, packaging, printing, water and waste water and other applications. The 1762-L24AWA is a compact controller that features integrated components in a single assembly. These components include Power supply, integrated Input and output channels, communication channel and terminal blocks. These component assembly allows the module to be operated out of the box and perform desired and programmed functions. The 1762-L24AWA is designed with Fourteen (14) input channels that accept 120VAC signals. The input channels are typically used for interfacing ON/OFF electrical and Electronic devices such as auxiliary contacts, sensors. These input channels have a minimum ON state voltage of 79 VAC while the maximum ON state voltage is 132VAC. The OFF state voltage range of each channels are 0-20VAC. The discrete output channels are normally open contacts, also known as Form A contacts, that are compatible with voltage categories of 24VDC, 125VDC, 120VAC and 240VAC. Depending on the voltage applied, the continuous current per channel varies. For 24VDC, current is at 2.0A, for 125VDC continuous current is 1.0A while for 120 VAC / 240 VAC, the continuous current is 2.5A. Each channel also exhibits a turn OFF and turn ON time of 10 ms minimum. The relay contacts are mechanically rated for 20,000,000 cycles with a minimum allowable load current of 10 mA. Relay contact outputs are ideal for use in applications where loads are operated with different voltage level and categories. The contact outputs allow passage of either AC or DC signals. Typical loads that may be connected with output module are motors, magnetic contactors, relays, solenoid actuators, devices and other electrical or electronic devices. This module follows the rackless design of MicroLogix product family which enables the module to be installed to a DIN rail specifically EN50022-35x7.5 or EN50022-35x15 DIN rails. This module is also designed with mounting screws to allow direct installation to a mounting plate for better resistance to vibration and shock. When installing this module, a 2-inches clearance is required to be maintained on all sides of the controller for adequate air flow and ventilation. This module has physical dimensions of Height of 90 mm, 104 mm (with DIN latch open), Width of 110 mm, and Depth of 87 mm. The poser supply requirement of this module is 100-240VAC at a frequency of 47-63 Hz. It can withstand an inrush current of 25A for 8 ms if operated with 120VAC and 40A for 4 ms if operated with 240VAC. The controllerÕs integrated communication port is a combo RS232 for Serial and RS485 for network application following daisy chain topology. Communication parameters, user programs, expansion modules are defined using the RSLogix 500 programming software. This programming software is the common programming software for the MicroLogix and SLC 500 PLC family that is installed to Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 Operating Systems.
