The single High-speed output channel may be used to re-transmit or allow the controller function as a metering device for integration with external metering, indicating and recording instruments.
This controller has an internal power supply that requires an external 24VDC power to be energized. This internal power supply power the circuitry to operate the controller as well as supply power to the MicroLogix bus. The internal power supply component can withstand an inrush current of 15A for 20 ms.
This controller is also provided with an internal memory of 6KB with a non-modifiable partitioning of 4KB for User Program and 2KB for Program Data. This integrated memory supports addition of a 1762-MM1 Memory Module, 1762-MM1RTC Memory Module with Real-Time Clock and 1762-RTC component which is a Real-Time Clock module only.
This controller is also provided with an 8-Pin mini DIN RS232 / RS485 combo port that supports DH485, DF1 Full-Duplex, DF1 Half Duplex, DF1 Radio Modem, MODBUS Master / Slave and ASCII protocols. RS232 is designed for peer-to-peer communication, may be used for upload and download of user program and communication with partner devices. If used as RS485, MODBUS RTU communication may be implemented in daisy-chain topology, typically used in Power Metering and substation automation applications, for direct integration of Power Meters, Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED) and other electrical device. For communication with other communication protocols, the integrated communication port may be used with Allen-Bradley 1761-NET-ENI or 1761-NET-ENIW for Ethernet, 1761-NET-DNI for DeviceNet and 1761-NET-AIC for DH485 network.
