The 1762-MM1RTC is MicroLogix 1200 option component that is used to provide a non-volatile memory and clock functions such as Year, Month, Day, Day of Month, Day of Week, Hour, Minute, and Seconds. The Memory Module amounts to 6KB memory, allows practical transfer of user program between compatible controllers without the use of programming software. The Real-Time clock enables the controller to be used in time-dependent applications such as scheduling of equipment and devices. The memory module does not add or increase the amount of the integrated memory of the MicroLogix 1200 controller it is installed to. It simply provides a secondary, non-volatile and removable storage. It allows data backup, Data File Download Protection, Memory Module Write Protection, Removal and Insertion Under Power (RIUP). Any MicroLogix controller is provided with a memory module slot where the 1762-MM1RTC is installed. For implementing time-based applications, the 1762-MM1RTC provides time, date, seconds information. Real-Time allows implementation of time or date dependent applications, typically used in Heating, Ventillation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC). This allows an equipment or device to automatically run or function, enabling equal runtime distribution. It may also be used in other applications that require the same functionality. The accuracy of Real-Time Clock depends on the ambient temperature. Specifically, if operated at a temperature of 0 ¡C or +32 ¡F, accuracy is +34 to -70 seconds/month. For +25 ¡C or +77 ¡F, accuracy is +36 to -68 seconds/month, for +40 ¡C or +104 ¡F, rated accuracy is +29 to -75 seconds/month and at +55 ¡C or +131 ¡F, accuracy is -133 to -237 seconds/month. These provided accuracy values are worst case values over 31-day month period. Though integrated with a Real-Time Clock, the memory module can store up to one user program only. If planning to insert to an active or live controller, the memory module will not put the controller to STOP mode or faulted mode. Installation will be allowed however, a power cycle is needed before the memory module is recognized and carry out the intended operation needed. When active transfer is being executed, the controllerÕs RUN LED flashes. Avoid interruption, whether manual or unintended interruption such as Power Loss when in the middle of data transfer to avoid data corruption. The 1762-MM1RTC is designed to fit with MicroLogix 1200 controllers. Only 1762 MicroLogix controllers are supported particularly 1762-L24AWA, 1762-L24AWAR, 1762-L24BWA, 1762-L24BWAR, 1762 -L24BXB, 1762-L24BXBR, 1762 -L40AWA, 1762 -L40AWAR, 1762-L40BWA, 1762-L40BWAR, 1762-L40BXB, and 1762-L40BXBR. The Real-Time Clock is provided with an internal battery with lifespan of 5 years at an operating temperature of 0 to 40 ¡C or 32-104 ¡F. If planning to store this module, temperature of storage facility must be at -40 - 60 ¡C or -40 -140 ¡F. Recommended installation of this module must not exceed Six (6) months. If the RTC battery is within low level, RTC data may be lost. However, if the controller where the module is installed is supplied with power, the RTC will operate normally. This behavior is similar to a computerÕs CMOS battery.
