About 1762-OA8

The 1762-OA8 is a Solid-State MicroLogix 1200 I/O expansion module. This module is capable of providing 100-240VAC voltage output through each of the Eight (8) output channels. As an output module, this module is used to energize indicating electrical components such as Pilot Lamps, energize alarm and sounding devices like buzzer, Horn and annunciators; Actuate Final Control Elements (FCE) of an ON/OFF control loops particularly Solenoid actuated valve, Motors, pumps, magnetic contactors, relays and other devices. This module may only be used with electrical loads that are operates at a voltage range of 85 - 265V AC @ 47 - 63 Hz frequency. The advantage of Solid-state output compared to Relay output type is that it has less noise, no mechanical moving parts and precise. Additionally, solid-state output devices have no contact bounce and has a faster ON and OFF time. The 1762-OA8 does not support removal and insertion under power. Always install or remove replacement or faulty module when the controller assembly is OFF or de-energized. Unable to abide with this recommendation may damage the module or the assembly as electric arc may occur. It may also render a process or machine unstable or operate in an uncontrollable manner. Similar to other MicroLogix expansion moduleÕs, the 1762-OA8 supports rackless design and compatible serving as expansion module of MicroLogix controllers 1100, 1200 and 1400. It is also compatible of being installed in combination with other MicroLogix expansion module. Up to Four (4) Expansion I/O is supported by MicroLogix 1100, Six (6) by MicroLogix 1200 and Seven (7) modules may be installed with a MicroLogix 1400. Install this module with a 2-inch clearance on all sides, to allow adequate air flow and ventilation. It supports horizontal installation only, using a DIN rail or directly to a mounting plate. Prevent solid objects from entering the module, especially conductive materials as this may cause damage to the module when the controller assembly is powered up. Use DIN Rails that are 35 x 7.5 mm (EN 50 022 - 35 x 7.5) or 35 x 15 mm (EN 50 022 - 35 x 15), recommended DIN rail end anchors are 1492-EA35 or 1492-EAH35 for vibration and shock protection. The 1762-OA8 measures 90 x 40.4 x 87 mm (height including mounting tabs is 110 mm) 3.54 x 1.59 x 3.43 in. (height including mounting tabs is 4.33 in.) with shipping weight of 215 g (0.48 lbs.). This module is rate for operation in Class I, Division 2, Hazardous Location, Groups A, B, C, D ISA/ANSI 12.12.01 (C-UL under CSA C22.2 No. 213) environment. The 1762-OA8Õs ON and OFF signal delay are rated for _ cycle only, much faster than other module type. It has Two (2) output groups, with output group 1 composed of channels 0-3 while output groups to are composed of channels 4-7. The 1762-OA8Õs configuration software is RSLogix 500 programming software. This software enables the module to be configured in the hardware configuration to be recognized by the host MicroLogix 1200 controller.
