The 1762-OB32T is a High-Density output module that belongs to the1762 MicroLogix product family. This expansion module is a Solid-State electronic device that boasts of noise immunity, no mechanical switching parts, faster ON and OFF reaction time, and efficient operation. It is ideal for use in automation requirements with High-density I/Os. This module requires the use of any termination base as it uses an Allen-Bradley made 1746-N3 which may also be locally fabricated. One end on the 1746-N3 is a quick connect keyed female connector while the other end are flying leads that may be wired to any terminal blocks and termination strip. This module has Two (2) output groups. Output group 1 is composed of channels 0-15 while output group 2 is composed of output channels 16-31. Each channel of this module operates at a nominal voltage of 24VDC with an operating range of 10.2 - 26.4 VDC. This module is a sourcing output module which mean the + of the 24VDC external supply is terminated to the +VDC of the module while the - terminal of the external supply is wired to the DC COM. Sourcing wiring simply indicates the flow of Current between the module and the instrument connected to the channel. Field device wire connect to the negative terminal of the module while the moduleÕs positive channel terminal connects to the field device + terminal. Use 22...26 AWG wire and strip at a maximum length of 4 mm or 5/32 inches. Insert the stripped wire individually to the wire barrel and solder together using lead-free solder and soldering pencil. The module is configured using RSLogix 500 programming software. The primary configuration step is by declaring the module in the I/O configuration of the programming software. When module is successfully added, the software automatically creates a Two (2) 16-Bit registers where each bit represents individual channels of the module. This register is accessible through the Output Data Files. The moduleÕs physical channel may be linked to the software components by directly dragging and dropping the data file bit into the address area of a program component or manual address input. RSLogix 500 is the common software used for the MicroLogix and SLC 500 Product family. The moduleÕs operating temperature is -20... 60 ¡C or -4...140 ¡F. Use this parameter to decide on the proper cooling or heating component. Additionally, the module has a Heat Dissipation of 3.4W @ 26.4V DC. To help control temperature within the panel, maintain an installation clearance of 2-inches on all sides of the module for proper air flow. This clearance applies to any adjacent component such as wireways, enclosure wall, nearby electrical component and other panel devices.
