The 1762-OW16 is a relay output module that belongs to the 1762 MicroLogix product family. This module is compatible for use with MicroLogix controllers specifically MicroLogix 1100, MicroLogix 1200 and MicroLogix 1400. This output module offers a distinct advantage of being capable of actuating AC and DC loads as the output channels are dry contact outputs. The 1762-OW16 has Sixteen (16) output modules. Typically, this module is used for electrical loads with higher current rating especially inductive loads as the output channels are rated for continuous output current of 2.0A for 24VDC, 1.0A for 125VDC and 2.0A for 120VAC / 240VAC. In common applications, this module can be used to directly energized soft starters and magnetic contactors. The contact outputs of this module has an OFF delay rating of 10ms and ON delay rating of 10ms. This module has Two (2) output groups where output group 1 composed of output channels 0-7 and output group 2 is made of the remaining channels, 8-15. With the isolation, each output group may be operated with a specified voltage range while the other module may be operated with the same voltage or a different voltage category. Continuous Current per common is 8A and Continuous Current per module 16A with a Total controlled load of 1440 VA. Each relay contact within the module has a contact minimum rating of 100 x 10_ operations @ 3A 30V DC or 250V AC, Resistive. The physical dimension of the module is 90 x 40.4 x 87 mm or 3.54 x 1.59 x 3.43 in. If mounting tabs are included, the height becomes 110 mm or 4.33 in with a shipping Weight 285g or 0.63 lbs. The module conforms to the rackless mounting style of MicroLogix controllers family which means it does not require a separately purchased electronic backplane for mounting. Simply install this module to a DIN rail or directly to the mounting plate. In any installation, maintain 2-inches clearance on all sides of the controller. This applies to enclosure walls, panel components, passive objects like wireways and other objects. This is to ensure that proper ventilation to prevent module overheating. Additionally, avoid vibration and shock from exceeding the moduleÕs operating vibration and shock rating of 5 g @ 10... 500 Hz and 30 g respectively. If vibration and shock is being experienced but not exceeding the specifications, the DIN rain mounting may be installed with an Allen-Bradley DIN Rail end anchors with catalog number 1492-EA35 or 1492-EAH35. This DIN rail accessory helps reduce vibration and shock. The other mounting method which is direct panel mounting may also be implemented for better vibration and shock suppression. When installing this module, prevent electrostatic discharge from damaging the module. Some precautionary steps that can be made are touching a grounded object, wearing of a wrist-strap connected to a grounded plate or device, avoiding contact to the pins of the bus connectors, avoid placing the module to an ungrounded workstation or a conductive surface, and keeping the module inside the box when not in use. Always put the module inside the anti-static packaging.
