The Allen-Bradley base unit with part number 1764-L28BXB provides installation means for the MicroLogix 1500 components. Expansion modules compatible with this controller are Compact I/O modules. Depending on the controller, Eight (8) or Sixteen (16) modules may be installed with the base unit. Expansion banks along with the base unit may be installed horizontally or vertically. Communication to the base unit is accomplished using the 1769-CR1 or 1769-CR3 expansion module. End caps are also installed at the beginning and end modules to terminate the bus.

Prevent excessive heat from building up within the enclosure by installing appropriate climate control components such as blowers and fans.
