The Allen-Bradley 1764-MM3RTC is a combination module that features an integrated memory module real-time clock installed in a common assembly. This dual component module is installed to the memory module slot of any MicroLogix 1500 base unit. It proves to be a cost-effective solution as this memory module is also capable of saving the data from the Data Log Queue area. The included Real-Time Clock (RTC) has an accuracy of 0 ¡C or +32 ¡F, accuracy is +34 to -70 seconds/month. For +25 ¡C or +77 ¡F, accuracy is +36 to -68 seconds/month, for +40 ¡C or +104 ¡F, rated accuracy is +29 to -75 seconds/month and at +55 ¡C or +131 ¡F, accuracy is -133 to -237 seconds/month. These values are expected worst case values over a 31-day period. If a memory module is present, the contents of the memory module is copied to the internal memory during each power cycle. The contents of the internal memory are retained by a lithium battery with applicable replacement part number of 1746-BA which only operates when the base unit or controller assembly is without power. When power is applied, the internal memory contents is retained by the external power supply. When both the external power supply and the battery is voltage is gone, the internal memory loses its contents, causing erasure of program. This is where the 1764-MM3RTCÕs Program and Data backup becomes useful as it is not affected by the event. User only needs to power cycle the controller initiate copying of the contents of the memory module to the internal memory to make the controller functional again. Up to only One (1) user program may be stored in the memory module. It may also be used to store Recipe data which was stored to Data Log Queue area in the MicroLogix 1500 LRP. This is one of the unique functions that the 1764-MM3RTC and 1764-MM3 compared to other memory modules.
