The 1756-EN2TR is a logic communication module from the 1756 ControlLogix series. This module has been created by Allen-Bradley to fulfill any compatible applications. This module is used mainly to establish communication links between different devices. It can be used to connect controllers to local and remote I/O modules, message modules, and to controllers with access with several types of software, among others. The Allen-Bradley 1756-EN2TR logic communication module works basically as an Ethernet or IP network, providing an Ethernet and IP bridge with an embedded switch and copper supports. It also provides motion of eight axes. This module not only connects modules and drives, but it acts as an adapter for remote links, a communication devices with other Ethernet and IP devices, and as a bridge to route messages and signal to other devices or networks.
The 1756-EN2TR features two Ethernet RJ45 Category 5 ports and one USB 1.1, full speed (12 Mbps) port. The cables used can be shielded or unshielded, depending on the preferences of the users. The Allen-Bradley 1756-EN2TR logic communication module supports linear topologies and device level ring (DLR) topologies. It features 128 TCP and 256 CIP connections. This module has a current draw of 1 Amp at 5.1 Volts DC, a power dissipation of 5.1 Watts, and an isolation voltage of 30 Volts. This module can operate at specific ranges of environmental conditions like an operating temperature of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, an ambient temperature in the surrounding air of 60 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity of 5 to 95% without condensing.
