The 1756-IF61 is an analog input/output module manufactured by Allen-Bradley. Its main work is to convert the analog signals received from the equipment into digital output signals and to convert digital signals into analog signals for the output range. This module offers six individual isolated inputs for analog data for the users’ CPU needs. The range of input that is supported is 0 to 10.5 volts and it works with 16-bit resolution. The 1756-IF61 has a backplane which is connected to the main board for the CPU at a 3.7 watts power rating. The 1756-IF61 features multiple input ranges, notch filter, real-time sampling, under range or over range detection capability, digital filters, process alarms, rate alarm, wire off detection tools, all of the features are unique to this superior quality module.
The highest signal allowed in the 1756-IF61 is 10.54688 volts and the lowest signal allowed is 0 volts to 10 volts. When using the 1756-IF61, the digital noise input is automatically smoothed with the digital filter option which enhances the performance of the device. The lag filter fitted with the input can determine the time constraint required at millisecond levels which offers an accuracy that makes it stand out in the market. But the 0 value disables this digital filter. When installing the drive, the users must remember to install the 1756-IF61 in a chassis to attain the optimal results from the analog module. Be careful when using the “disabling all alarms” feature which also turns off the under range or over range detection features that can damage the device seriously if an excess current is passed through.
