The Allen Bradley 1756-L83E is a ControlLogix Processor module that is centered on the EtherNet/IP Communication. The 1756-L83E features 32 tasks and it is a 1000 program tasks with limitless event triggers. The maximum I/O Digital is 128,000 and also has an analog I/O of 4000 maximum. The module offers the user a communication speed of 12 Megabytes per second with an option of 100 or 250 Ethernet Nodes. The user memory for the 1756-L83E is 10 Megabytes and comes with an Isolation Voltage of 50 Volts Continuous. The Thermal Dissipation for the 1756-L83E is 21.2 BTU per hour while a power dissipation is 6.2 Watts. The current Draw of 1756-L83E is 1.2 Amperes at 5.1 Volts while at 1.2 Volts DC the Current Draw is 5 Milliamps. The other optional communication options supported by the 1756-L83E include ControlNet, EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, and also other third party processes including device networks. These communication protocols allow for software programming, configuration of the equipment, on-line edits, and also firmware updates only. For the Ethernet communication module, it is important to include a connection to the controller with Input / output modules. These should be connected directly to an EtherNet/IP network without the need for bridge module.
With an Ethernet performance at 10, 100, or 1000, it can carry up to 250 Ethernet I/P nodes when it is used with the Studio 5000 Logix Designer version 30 or higher. The controller should be used with an Allen Bradley SD Card as these cards are tested and confirmed compatible with the 1756-L83E and are capable of withstanding the extreme industrial temperatures. The 1756-L83E comes with an optional nonvolatile storage memory and ships with a 2 GB Secure Digital SD Card. Non removable energy storage is also included together with a type B USB port.
