The 1756-OA16 is a digital output module manufactured by Allen-Bradley under the ControlLogix Series. The digital output module comes with a voltage of 120 to 140 Volts AC with an operating voltage range is 74 to 265 Volts AC. Being a 16-point output module, the 1756-OA16’s maximum power dissipation is 6.5 Watts at 60 degrees Celsius. The 1756-OA16 also has a backplane current of 400 mA at 5 Volts while the backplane current at 24 Volts is 2 mA. The 1756-OA16 supports two removable terminal blocks. These are the 1756-TBNH and 1756-TBSH. It comes with an isolation voltage of 50 Volts continuous. The maximum output current rating point is 0.5 Amps at 60 degrees Celsius while the maximum output current rating module is 4 Amps at 60 degrees Celsius. The 1756-OA16 can be located on any slot on the chassis.

The 1756-OA16 features various fault states for each point. These include Hold the Last State, On-State, Off-State, and individual status indications in Program Mode for each point. The 1756-OA16 also comes with mechanically fused groups of outputs. The digital output module multicasts fault and status data to the owner controller or the listening controller. Just like the input modules, this output module maintains a module fault word which is its highest level of fault reporting. The fault words used on the 1756-OA16 include module-fault with a tag name fault and it provides the fault summary reporting. The other fault word on the 1756-OA16 is a fuse blown indicator with the tag name FuseBlown and this indicates that a point or group fuse has been blown on the 1756-OA16. Lastly, there is the Field Power Loss indicator with the tag name FieldPwrLoss which indicates a loss of field power to a point on the module. All the fault words are 32 bits.
