The 1756-ON8 is a ControlLogix digital output module manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It has ratings of 24 Volts AC, 50 to 60 Hertz, 8-point output, 10 to 30 Volts AC operating voltage, 9.3 milliseconds at 60 Hertz or 11 milliseconds at 50 Hertz of Off-to-On and On-to-Off delay time, respectively, 200 milliamps of current draw at 5.1 Volts, 2 milliamps of current draw at 24 volts, and 1.07 watts of backplane power. This module weighs 0.363 kilograms and it can communicate output commands in a ControlLogix system. It provides On/Off acuation and detection for a wide range of output devices like motor starters in an industrial environment.
Note that the 1756-ON8 output module is only a component of a ControlLogix system which also consists of controllers, removable terminal blocks (RTB), and adapters. An Allen-Bradley Logix5000 controller can be used to transmit operation and behavior data to the 1756-ON8 output module and its functions can be activated or deactivated from the Logix Designer software. Shutting off the power supply to the ControlLogix system in order to remove or install the module is not necessary because such operations would not disrupt other processes in the system. The integral status indicators of the Allen-Bradley 1756-ON8 digital output module make it easy to monitor the I/O status and module health in the ControlLogix system and it supports direct and rack-optimized connections. Note that exceeding the surge and power rating while applying the 1756-ON8 digital output module to devices in its network can result in damage.
