From Allen-Bradley comes the 1771-A3B which is an I/O chassis for mounting the 1771 I/O modules. The 1771-A3B has 12 I/O slots and it is suitable for mounting the PLC-5 system. It measures 13.5 x 19 x 8.5 inches and has a weight of 8.7kgs. The 1771-A3B is intended for use in an industrial setting which has a relative humidity level of between 5 and 95% without condensation. The I/O chassis performs best in an environment with a temperature between 32 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
The 1771-A3B has a non-operating shock rating of 30g. The chassis is configured to accept a wide range of chassis mounting styles. The 1771 I/O modules are flexible and small with intelligent digital and analog I/O modules to be used in a wide range of applications. The 1771-A3B accommodates a current of 8A with a 5V DC power supply. The 1771 I/O modules to be mounted on the 1771-A3B chassis do not have to be disconnected when removing the modules because they have remote termination panels and wiring arms. Additionally, the modules have status indicators on the front panel to ease troubleshooting and monitoring. The 1771-A3B is easily replaceable if expansions are needed.
The 1771-A3B’s operating shock rating is 15g, and its storage temperature is between -40 and 185 degrees Fahrenheit. At 10-500Hz, the 1771-A3B has a vibration rating of 2g. The chassis is standalone with a back panel of 19 inches (rack mount type.) When the 1771 I/O modules are mounted on the 1771-A3B chassis, communication with either the processor or the I/O modules is achieved through the backplane.
