The 1771-CP3 cable from Allen Bradley is used to interface the 1771-P7 power supply with the 1771 Input-Output rack. When purchasing the 1771-CP3, it comes with 2 screws and 2 cable ties. One screw and one cable tie is used to hold the 1771-CP3 cable on the 1771-P7 power supply, while the remaining screw and cable tie is used to hold the 1771-CP3 cable on the 1771 Input-Output rack. When connecting the 1771-CP3, make sure to connect the right-angled side of the cable to the rack. Use one screw to tighten it into place, and use the cable tie to hold it against the rack backplane connector. The other end of the cable goes to the bottom side of the 1771-P7 power supply, where it is connected to a D-shell connector. Carefully insert the cable into the slot, being careful not to force it. Use the remaining screw and cable tie to screw it tight and hold it in place, using the cable tie. Do not apply the connections when the power supply is turned on. When removing the 1771-CP3, turn off the 1771-P7 power supply first.

Disconnecting and connecting the power supply while the power is turned on can cause an electrical arc, which may lead to an explosion when in a hazardous environment. The 1771-CP3 cable measures 5.5 feet, or approximately 1.7 meters. The cable can provide connection to the 1771-A1, 1771-A2B, 1771-A3B1, and the 1771-A4B Input-Output racks. When the power supply is installed outside the I/O chassis, it should be placed above the chassis to allow for proper air circulation in the Input-Output chassis.
