The pre-installed memory slot has a backup battery power supply which dissipates 3.6V DC. The 1771-HM has a 32KB CMOS RAM which provides storage for the MML program. The 1771-HS motion controller module, is comprised of three servo controller modules located in the 1771 Input Output chassis, an encoder module, a 1771-PS7 power supply module, and a 1771-HM memory cartridge. To receive encoder feedback, feedback signals, E-stop and E-start status signals, the 1771-HS uses the 50-pin connector of the Axis E-stop Input/Output connector. The Axis E-stop Input/Output connector also provides a fast Input/Output power.
The 1771-HS has four green and red indicators on its face to provide an easy way for monitoring and troubleshooting. Additionally, the 1771-HS is connected to the 1771-PS7 power supply via a power connector on its front side using the 1771-CAS power cable. The power supply is shipped together with the module and has a rating of 1A at 120V AC and 2A at 220V AC.
The 1771-HS has an RS-232 connector on its face that provides a port for downloading and uploading the AMP parameters, the MML programs and it also acts as a connection port of the hand-held pendant which is used to debug hardware and MML programs. To connect external modules to the controller, the 1771-HS is shipped with extra server connector cables. The recommended operating temperature for the 1771-HS is 32-140 degrees Fahrenheit and the recommended storage temperature is -40-185 degrees Fahrenheit.
