The 1771-IGD from Allen Bradley is a 16 Input/Output digital module used to interface BCD interface encoders in an A-B bulletin 854C. The 1771-IGD operates at a voltage of 5 Volts and within a voltage category of between 5.0 and 5.3 Volts that is Transistor Transistor Logic (TTL) compatible. The 1771-IGD has a peak to peak maximum ripple of 50 mV. The module has an input signal delay of less than 1 millisecond. The 1771-IGD has a maximum power dissipation of 2.7 Watts and a minimum of 0.4 Watts. The minimum and maximum thermal dissipation for the 1771-IGD is between 1.4 and 9.2 BTU per hour. To protect against power surges, the digital Input/Output module has a blow fuse normal that is rated ½ Amperes at 250 Volts.
The 1771-IGD should be operated at temperatures ranging between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius, a storage temperature that does not exceed 85-degree Celsius cannot drop lower than -40 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the module should be operated within a relative humidity of between 5 & 95% without condensation. For one second, the 1771-IGD module has an isolation voltage of 1500 AC RMS. The 1771-IGD exerts a load of 130 mA on the backplane. The 1771-WH wiring arm is used when wiring the module to reduce the need the rewire the system in case the 1771-IGD needs to be replaced. The 1771-IGD module has logic status switches’ which uses voltage difference to indicate ON and OFF. Voltages between -0.2 to +0.8 and 2 to 5.3 are used to indicate ON and OFF in any order depending on the logical switch setting.
