The 1771-IQ16 is a DC input module made by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. The module has 16 inputs and it is installed in the Allen-Bradley 1771 I/O chassis. The input voltage for the 1771-IQ16 ranges from 10 to 32V DC. The module draws a 100-milliampere current from the backplane and it has a 24V DC sink source load. The 1771-IQ16 has an off-state current (min.) of 2 milliamperes at 5V DC, an off-state voltage (max.) of 5V DC, an on-state voltage (minimum) of 10V DC and a minimum on-state current of 6 milliamperes at 10V DC. The 1771-IQ16 has an input current (maximum) of 30 milliamperes at 32V DC and a maximum input resistance of 1.6 ohms. Additionally, the module has a 1500V AC isolation voltage for both channel-to-channel and channel-to-backplane current for 1 second.
The 1771-IQ16 has an input signal delay (customer selectable) of 9, 1, and 0 milliseconds. When wiring the 1771-IQ16 module, use the 1771-WN field wiring arm. The wiring arm screw has a screw torque of between 7 and 9-inch pounds. The cable connecting the 1771-IQ16 should not exceed 1000 ft and should have a 14-gauge strand (maximum) and an insulation not exceeding 3/64 inch. The 1771-IQ16 has a power dissipation of ½ W and 15 W minimum and maximum, respectively. The thermal dissipation for the 1771-IQ16 is rated at 51 BTR/hour (max) and 1.7 BTU/hour (min).
The 1771-IQ16 DC input module is keyed using pins 22-24, and 30-32, and it is operated at a relative humidity between 5 and 95% without condensation. The module has 16 indicators for the 16 inputs plus one extra indicator to show the general status of the module after the module has successfully powered-up and initialized. The 1771-IQ16 can be interfaced with proximity, limit, selector, pushbutton, and float switches. The input filter delay time is 1 milliseconds and is factory-configured.
