The 1771-IR is an RTD input module made by Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley. The module puts an 800-milliampere current load on the chassis backplane. The 1771-IR has a sensor resistance of 100 ohms platinum and 10 ohms copper or other sensors that support reporting in ohms. The module has an On-state signal delay (direct current) of 10 milliseconds, and a 50 milliseconds Off-state signal delay. Additionally, the 1771-IR has an On-state alternating current signal delay of 45 milliseconds plus or minus 15ms. The 1771-IR has six 3-wired RTD inputs and it does not require an external power supply. The 1771-IR uses the 1771-WF wiring arm.
The 1771-IR module can support data formats in natural binary, ohm readings, or in BCD actual temperature. The module has a 16-bits resolution and a 50 milliseconds channel update time for the 8 channels. The 1771-IR is rack mountable where it is installed on any available slot in the Input/Output module and it can be monitored through the special LED indicators on its front panel. The module is keyed using pins 10-12, and 28-30, and is CSA class I, division 2, and Groups A, B, C, D certified.
The 1771-IR has a common mode rejection of 120db at 60 hertz to a maximum of 1000V peak, a common mode impedance >10 mega ohms, and a normal mode rejection of 60db at 60 hertz. The 1771-IR has an overvoltage protection of 120V RMS (continuous). The module’s power dissipation rating is 4.75 watts (max) and its thermal dissipation is 16.2 BTU per hour. The 1771-IR has a temperature coefficient of +50ppm per degree Celsius at full scale range.
