The 1771-ISC is a multiplexer input module from Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley and it is an earlier version of the 1771-IS module. The module operates at a voltage rating of 5V DC and it consumes a current of 800 mA from the chassis backplane. The 1771-ISC has a 15.3 milliseconds normal module update time and a 5.1x faster module scan time. The two scan times are user selectable. The 1771-ISC supports flex Input and Output modules. The flex modules are ideal for use in distributed and flexible applications.

The 1771-ISC module has a single slot and a normal alternating current signal delay of 45 milliseconds on average. The direct current signal delay for the 1771-ISC multiplexer input module is rated at an average of 50 milliseconds. The 1771-ISC does not require an external power supply since power is supplied by the module. The module supports inputs with 4-digit BCD, 72 momentary contact switches, or maintained discrete contact switches. The 1771-ISC module is rack mountable and is installed in the Allen-Bradley 1771 Input and Output chassis where it occupies one slot. The 1771-ISC uses the 1771-WF wiring arm to reduce the need for rewiring when the users are replacing the module or other devices connected to it. The 1771-ISC is designed for industrial environments that are certified with humidity levels of between 5 and 95% without condensation. When installing the 1771-ISC module, proper spacing should be observed to allow the free flow of air. This increases ventilation and reduces the possibility of the module inside the 1771 Input and Output chassis from overheating.
