The 1771-OD16 is a digital AC isolated module from Rockwell automation/ Allen Bradley. The module has 16 outputs with each output channel capable of controlling the off/on status of solenoids, AC motor starters, or indicators. The 1771-OD16 module has a metal-oxide varistor between sets of terminals which helps in keeping the high-voltage transients in check. The 1771-OD16 modules can be installed in either the 1771-A1B, 1771-A2B, 1771-A3B or the 1771-A4B Input Output chassis. The module operates at a voltage range of between 74 and 138 Volts alternating current which at a frequency of 47 to 63 Hertz. The 1771-OD16 module has a continuous per channel current of between 5 mA and 2 Amperes, 8 amperes per module, and a peak current surge of 20 amperes repeated each 2 seconds for 100 milliseconds. The 1771-OD16 digital AC isolated module has a maximum per output on-state voltage drop of 5.8 Volts RMS when the load current is less than 50 milliamperes and 1.5 Volts RMS when the load current is greater than 50 milliamperes. At 138 Volts AC, the 1771-OD16 module has a maximum off-state leakage current of 3.0 milliamperes.

At zero cross switching, the module has a common on-off and off-on signal delay of 8.3 and 10 milliseconds at 60 and 50 Hertz respectively. The 1771-OD16 exerts a current load of 250 milliamperes on the backplane. Additionally, the module has a maximum power and thermal dissipation rating of 13.25 Watts and 45.2 BTU per hour respectively and a min thermal and power dissipation rating of 4.3 BTU per hour and 1.25 Watts. The 1771-OD16 module has an isolation voltage tested at 2500 Volts DC for 1 sec. The 3A 2AG slow-blo fuses are recommended to be used in the module at 1 fuse per channel. Pins 22 to 24 and 34 to 36 are used when keying the 1771-OD16 module to the backplane.
