The Allen Bradley 1771-ODC is an AC isolated output module with 6 outputs and a backplane current rating of 225 milliamperes. The 1771-ODC is an earlier version of the 1771-OD AC isolated output module which also had 16 outputs. Connections to the 1771-ODC module are made through the 1771-WD wiring arm. The module occupies a slot in the 1771 Input Output chassis and is keyed to the backplane using keying bands between 30 & 32 and 4 & 6. At a frequency range of 10 to 500 Hertz, the 1771-ODC module can accommodate a vibration not exceeding 2g.

The 1771-ODC module accommodates a maximum cable length of 1000 feet, an on-state voltage drop of 2 Volts at 100 mA, and an off-state leakage current not exceeding 5 mA at a maximum voltage of 138 Volts alternating current. The 1771-ODC AC isolated output module is meant to be operated at temperatures not exceeding 60 degree Celsius and not less than 0 degrees Celsius. The non-condensing operating humidity level for the 1771-ODC module is between 5 to 95 percent. The outputs for the 1771-ODC are individually fused.

When replacing the fuse or the module, or even when installing the module, make sure to completely switch off the power supply to the Input Output chassis. The 1771-ODC module dissipates a maximum and minimum power of 13.2 and 1.2 Watts respectively. For monitoring and easy error detection, the module has twelve LED indicators with the first six (from top) corresponding to each output channel while the others provide for the blown fuse status of each output channel.
