The 1771-OMD is an AC digital output module with 16 output channels from Allen Bradley. This module is meant to be installed in a series B 1771 I/O chassis and should be operated within a voltage ranging between 184 and 250 Volts AC. The 1771-OMD is powered through the I/O chassis. The AC digital output module uses “reset” or “last state” settings when configuring the fault mode. Setting the fault mode programs how the 1771-OMD module behaves in case of an error. To set the fault mode, use the selection jumper situated at the base of the 1771-OMD circuit board, slide it off two posts by the help of your finger, position it on the second jumper of the third posts taking your requirements into consideration.The 1771-OMD AC digital output module has a per module current rating (output) of 8 Amps which does not exceed 2 Amps per output channel. For the surge current, the 1771-OMD module has a common per module and a per output maximum surge current of 25 Amps for 100 milliseconds. The module can accommodate a minimum load current of 10 milliamperes at each output channel at 220 Volts AC at a frequency of 60 Hertz. When the module is switched off, it leaks 4 milliamperes per output. The 1771-OMD has a maximum on-state voltage drop of 1.5 Volts at 220 Volts AC.
Additionally, the 1771-OMD module exerts a current load of 700 milliamperes on the backplane and dissipates 3.7 and 17.3 Watts maximum and minimum power respectively. When keying the module to the backplane, use pins 2 to 4, & 6 to 8. The 1771-OMD accepts connections through the 1771-WH, the 1771-WHF (with a 3A fuse), or the 1771-WHFB (with a 1.5A fuse) field wiring arms. The module also has a maximum and minimum thermal rating of 59.0 and 12.6 BTU per hour respectively. When installing or replacing the 1771-OMD module, disconnect the power supply from the I/O chassis to avoid damage to personnel and or other components in the chassis. The 1771-OMD module has 17 LED indicators, one for the module’s active status and one for each output channel.
