The Allen Bradley 1771-ON is an Alternating Current output module (digital) that has eight output channels. This module is rack mountable and occupies a slot in the 1771 Input Output chassis. At a frequency range of 47 to 63 Hertz, the 1771-ON module operates at a voltage range of 20 to 30 Volts Alternating Current. The nominal voltage (output) for the module is 24 Volts direct current at 50/60 Hertz, a maximum per surge current of 4 amperes for a period of 10 seconds for both per module and per output, and a maximum voltage drop (on-state) of 2 Volts at a current of 100 milliamperes. The 1771-ON Digital Alternating Current Output Module has a per output current of 1.5 Amps maximum and 8 Amps per the whole module. Additionally, the 1771-ON dissipates a maximum and minimum power of 13.2 and 1.2 Watts respectively. At an Alternating current of 30 Volts, the 1771-ON leaks 4 milliamperes per output in the off state. The minimum and maximum thermal rating for the output module is 4.1 and 45.1 BTU per hour. At 5 Volts Direct Current +-5 percent, the 1771-ON module exerts a current load of 225 milliamperes on the backplane.
The 1771-ON, as with other digital Input Output modules, provides a link to enable controlling the On /Off status of pushbuttons, motor starts, pilot lights, and limit switches while at the same time providing LED indicators to assist in monitoring and troubleshooting the digital AC output module. The 1771-ON is powered through the 1771 Input Output chassis and is keyed to the backplane using pins 4 to 6 and 12 to 14. Connections to the module are made though the 1771-WA wiring arm. For optimum performance, the module should be operated at temperatures between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius at a non-condensing humidity of between 5 and 95 percent.
