The 1771-OYL is a contact output module designed by Allen-Bradley. It belongs to the 1771 series of digital I/O AC input and output modules. This contact output module can be used either with series A or B I/O chassis.  The Allen-Bradley 1771-OYL contact output module has an operating voltage rating of 0 to 24 Volts AC and 0 to 24 Volts DC. It offers a current rating of 100 milliamperes and a power rating of 2.4 watts AC. This module features 7 outputs. When installing the module, a wiring arm is required (Catalog number: 1771-WD) which will act as a terminal strip and as a bridge between the module and the chassis. It will also allow the module to be removed from the chassis without disconnecting all the wiring and connections. The module has also 8 status indicators integrated that represent the control status of each output relays.

It is important to protect the drive from electrostatic discharges, since it contains sensitive components that can be damaged when exposed to it. It is important to discharge yourself before touching the module and it is also recommended to use a static-safe work station when dealing with this module. The Allen-Bradley 1771-OYL contact output module features relay contacts, specifically dry-reed relays, that offers dry circuits and prevent leakage current. This type of contacts enables the module to be used with low-voltage applications. Surge currents must be avoided. The environmental conditions for the Allen-Bradley 1771-OYL contact output module are an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity of 5 to 95% without water dropping or condensation.
