The Allen-Bradley 1746-NO4I is an analog output module in the SLC-500 series. It has four analog output channels with four current outputs which are not isolated on an individual level. The 1746-NO4I draws a maximum backplane current of 55 mA at 5 Volts and 195 mA at 24 Volts. When supplied with an external power of 24 Volts, has +/- 10% current at a maximum of 195 mA; it also has an SW1 switch, making it easier to select the source of power. When the SW1 switch is UP, the 1746-NO4I draws its power from an external source, being powered from the backplane when the SW1 switch is in the DOWN position.
The 1746-NO4I has a resolution of 2.56348A per LSB. At a 0 to 21 mA current range, the 1746-NO4I has 0 to 32767 output words; at 0 to 20 mA it has 0 to 31208 output words, and at 4 to 20 mA it has 6242 to 31208 output words.
The 1746-NO4I has an operating temperature between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius. It has a 14-bit resolution with a 2.5 millisecond step response time. It uses the R-R method of conversion and a 0 to 500Ω load range. In addition, it has a 5% over-range ability. At 25 degrees Celsius, it has an accuracy (overall) of +/- 0.298% full scale; at 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, it has an accuracy of +/- 0.541% its rated +/- 70 ppm/degree Celsius accuracy drift (overall maximum full scale).
The 1746-NO4I has a +/- 298% of full-scale gain error at 25 degrees Celsius and a gain error of +/- 516% of full scale at 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, plus a maximum of +/- 62 ppm/degree Celsius of full scale drift on gain error.
