The Allen Bradley 1746-RT32 is a Removable Terminal Block in the SLC 500 series. The 1746-RT32 module draws a backplane current of 215 milliamperes at 5 Volts and has an update time of 2 millimeters. It has 4 Input/Output points and 18 terminals, all of which are plated in gold to reduce resistance while also increasing the module’s durability.
The 1746-RT32 module has a humidity rating of between 5% and 95% in a non-condensing space. It can be mounted on an 1746 chassis, and weighs 2.5 pounds with measurements of 5.5 x 3.6 x 5.7 inches. Its lightweight and compact size helps transport the module easily. It has an operating temperature of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, with -40 to 85 degrees Celsius as its ideal storage temperature.
The 1746-RT32 must be used only with the 1746-NT8 thermocouple/mV module. It has Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) sensors that ensure a flawless operation of the thermocouple module. It also has one release screw on each end to help hold it firmly in place when it’s being mounted. It can accommodate the 1746-RT26 and 1746-RT26 units as I/O connections and it is CUL, CSA and CE certified.
When fastening the 1746-RT32 module to its chassis the CJC sensors should be left untouched. This sensor provides reliable readings of the thermocouple input on each channel. A red lug should always be fixed on the positive terminal of the CJC. When wiring the 1746-RT32, ensure that the unshielded parts of the trimmed wire are minimal.
