The 1747-L30 is a fixed hardware style controller of the SLC 500 series. The SLC 500 series of fixed controllers are grouped depending on the number of I/O points, i.e., the L30 has 30 I/O points, L20 has 20 I/O points and L40 has 40 I/O points. The 1747-L30 has a capacitor-supported RAM memory with an optional memory backup choice of either EEPROM or UVPROM. Additionally, the controller features a 1K instruction memory and an estimated scan time of 8ms/1K.
The 1747-L30 also offers a power supply inrush rating of 30A, a maximum power requirement of 50VA, and a user current of 200mA at 24V. The user output voltage of the 1747-L30 is 24V average with a -15%/+15% margin. The 1747-L30 uses a maximum wire size of #14 AWG. Additionally, the controller is equipped with I/O electrical to optical isolation of 1500V AC at 1 minute. Fixed controllers such as the 1747-L30 operate on a power supply of either AC or DC. The AC power supply ranges from 85-265V and the DC power supply ranges from 21.6-26.4V. For the DC power supply the average is 24V DC with a margin of -10%/+10%. LEDs on the controller are labelled POWER, PC RUN, CPU FAULT, FORCED I/O and BATTERY LOW to indicate status of operation. Manufactured for industrial environments, the 1747-L30 accommodates vibration disturbances by offering 0.015” peak-to-peak displacement at 5-57 Hz.
The 1747-L30 has a family of subsets including the 1747-L30A, 1747-L30B, 1747-L30C, 1747-L30L and 1747-L30P. The features that set them apart are the nature of output, whether the output is relay, TRIAC or DC transistor sinks, the presence of a high-speed counter, and availability of user power. Also, the subsets of the 1747-L30 have a bit execution time of 4 microseconds and a program scan hold-up time of between 20ms and 700ms after power loss.
