The Allen-Bradley 1747-L532 is an SLC 5/03 central processor unit with 12K user memory and 16K program memory. The processor is capable of supporting 4096 inputs and 4096 outputs. The backplane current at 5V is 500 mA and at 24V is 175 mA. The processor has a very simple and comprehensible interface for easy interaction. Status indicators on the processor include: Run, CPU fault, Forced I/O, Battery Low, RS-232, DH-485. The hardware components include a battery with backup power, a memory module, a key switch, and DH-485 channel ports. An optional feature for the 1747-L532 processor is Flash EPROM backup memory.

The 1747-L532 has a hold-up time of 20 ms - 3 s after loss of power. Exact amounts depend on power supply loading. The maximum current for the processor is 0.5A at 5V dc and 0.175A at 24V. Typical scan time is 1ms/K. This scan time is typical for a 1K ladder logic program. Actual times depend on program size and communication protocol. The bit execution for the 1747-L532 is 0.44 microseconds.

Heat dissipation from the 1747-L532 has a minimum value of 2.90 Watts. Operating temperatures for the processor should remain between 0-60 degrees Celsius (32-140 degrees Fahrenheit). Storage temperatures should be between -40-85 degrees Celsius (-40-185 degrees Fahrenheit). The operating shock for the processor is measured at 30g. The displacement vibration measures 0.015 in. peak-to-peak at 5-57 Hz. Acceleration vibration for the processor measures at 2.5 g at 57-2000 Hz. The 1747-L532 has NEMA standard ICS 2-239 noise immunity.

About 1747-L532

The SLC 500 series 1747-L532 module is manufactured by Allen-Bradley as an SLC 5/03 controller module. It is an industrial processor module. The 1747-L532 processor and controller module can be used a full duplex setup where it is directly connected to a computer with a cable or where it is connected to a computer through 1 or more modems and multiple cables. The full duplex setup is also known as a point to point setup. The users can program the 1747-L532 processor and controller module through the RSLogix500 software, and they can use the computer in the full duplex setup to do the programming if the computer runs the RSLogix500 software. This processor and controller can communicate with other devices through the DH485 and RS-232 ports and it supports half duplex setups as well as full duplex ones.

The Allen-Bradley SLC 500 1747-L532 processor and controller module has battery backup for its RAM and it is compatible with the Allen-Bradley 1747-M13 backup memory device. Its user memory capacity is 16,000 words and its RAM capacity is 16 KB. There is an LED for the memory’s backup battery that will illuminate when the battery power is low so that the users can replace it as quickly as possible. The 1747-L532 processor and controller module can operate within an ambient temperature range from 0 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius. It can tolerate up to 30 G of shock during operation without becoming damaged. The 1747-L532 processor should only be installed and used in clean and dry environments where it will not be exposed to moisture, debris, or corrosive chemicals.

The Allen-Bradley 1747-L532 processor can be used as a controller in the SLC 5/03 product line of the SLC 500 series. It can be programmed through the RSLogix500 software.
