The Fieldbus Network Adapters from GE Fanuc are used to connect a variety of station I/O modules in a system to the Fieldbus in a programmable logic controller or PLC system. All of the data traffic within the PLC systems is exchanged through the Network Adapters, including the diagnostics messages, which makes the Network Adapters a vital component in any complete industrial PLC system. The Network Adapters draw their own power and the power for the modules connected to them from the PLC’s integrated power supply. The Network Adapters can be mounted on DIN Rails and they can be installed vertically or horizontally depending on the requirements of their host systems and applications. The environmental protection rating of the Fieldbus Network Adapters is IP 20.

 

Some of the GE Fanuc Fieldbus Network Adapters are suitable for Profibus applications, and they come with special features for Profibus applications like rotary switches. The operating temperature ratings for the Network Adapters depend on the type of power supply that they use and on whether they are mounted horizontally or vertically. When mounted horizontally, the Network Adapters support operating temperature ranges of -4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit with an 8-A power supply and -4 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit with a 10-A power supply. When mounted vertically, the Network Adapters support operating temperature ranges of -4 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit with a 6-A power supply and -4 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit with an 8-A power supply. The storage temperature range for the Network Adapters is always -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit.
