The GE Fanuc EP-5212 Digital Frequency Counter Module is a 2-channel DIN Rail-mounted digital counter module from the RSTi-EP remote I/O system. This module offers 2 high speed 32 bits counter inputs with a maximum input frequency of 100 Kiloohms. It also has reverse polarity protection.

The GE Fanuc EP-5212 Digital Frequency Counter Module is a 2-channel DIN Rail-mounted digital counter module from the Special Functions Modules series within the RSTi-EP remote I/O system. The EP-5212 Digital Frequency Counter Module is designed to accept and read a frequency signal (one square wave signal) from single or multiple external input sensors with 100 Kilohertz of maximum input frequency. The input channels (CH0 and CH1) accept input frequency from external sensor devices and counts and they measure these frequencies in cycles. The EP-5212 Digital Frequency Counter Module has 2 non-isolated counter input circuits with built-in digitally adjustable filters to suppress interference. These filters offer a user-adjustable filtering time between 333 milliseconds and 5 microseconds and an adjustable frequency range from 3.0 Hertz to 187 Kilohertz. The EP-5212 Digital Frequency Counter Module has a maximum input frequency rating of 100 Kilohertz and a maximum counter width of 32 bits. Each input point has a low voltage range of less than 5 Volts DC and a high voltage range of more than 11 Volts DC. Each input also has 3.5 milliamps of maximum load capability, and it has up to 50 Volts DC isolation (galvanic) between current paths.

 

The GE Fanuc EP-5212 Digital Frequency Counter Module can accommodate a maximum of 2 external input sensors, and it supports 2-wire or 3-wire connections with external sensors. The EP-5212 Digital Frequency Counter Module features built-in diagnostics and protective functions (reverse polarity protection and module diagnostics) to extend the module lifespan and reduce machine downtime. The EP-5212 Digital Frequency Counter Module draws its power from the RSTi-RP integrated power supply module. This power supply module supplies 20.4 Volts DC to 28.8 Volts DC voltage for operation. The EP-5212 Digital Frequency Counter Module has a maximum current rating of 8 milliamps from the system current path and 35 milliamps plus sensor current from the input current path. The EP-5212 Digital Frequency Counter Module is capable of transmitting diagnostic data, parameters, and process data over the RSTi-EP I/O communication bus with a maximum transmission rate of 48 Megabits per second.
