Technical Information

The IC600BF813 input module from GE Fanuc is a Type J thermocouple input module. The IC600BF813 input module is designed for use with the GE Fanuc Series Six PLC systems. A total of 8 electrically isolated inputs are provided on the IC600BF813 input module for the detection of analog signals developed by thermocouple devices. A total of 7 different thermocouple input modules are available from GE Fanuc. The thermocouple temperature range for the IC600BF813 input module is -100 to 760 degrees Celsius, +/- 1.3 degrees, and -148 to +1400 degrees Fahrenheit, +/- 2.34 degrees. Each IC600BF813 input module has two 4-channel thermocouple conditioners. The conditioners can perform isolation, filtering, common mode rejection, and low drift amplification applications. An amplifier with programmable gain and a 13-bit integrating analog to digital converter helps to preserve the signal integrity.

 

The conditioner output is a 13-bit word which equates to ± 4096 counts of resolution. An integrated microprocessor on the IC600BF813 input module scales, linearizes, and converts the input data to either degrees Fahrenheit or degrees Celsius. This temperature value, along with supplemental binary information, is sent to the Series Six CPU. The input channels on the IC600BF813 input module are sampled at a rate of 15 or 30 samples per second. At 15 samples per second, the normal mode rejection of each input on the IC600BF813 input module is 86 dB. The IC600BF813 input module consumes a maximum of 1.7 Amps at 5 Volts DC. The input requirements for the Type J IC600BF813 input module are -4.632 to +42.922 millivolts. A storage temperature range of -4 to 176 degrees Fahrenheit and a working temperature range of 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit are recommended by GE Fanuc for the IC600BF813 input module.
