Technical Information

The GE Fanuc IC600BF830 Series Six advanced I/O receiver module is an I/O receiver module for the GE Series Six PLC system. This module equips the Series Six PLC CPUs with versatile capabilities such as the ability to detect I/O failures and to respond to failure reports and messages in an intelligent and controlled manner. This module also allows for all levels of the Series Six programming software to program responses to I/O faults, including breakages in the I/O cables and power supply faults by using the relay logic. Besides adding versatility to the Series Six PLC system, the IC600BF830 advanced I/O receiver module allows the Series Six CPU to decide whether to stop or to continue operation in the event of an I/O system error by using a user program.

 

The IC600BF830 advanced I/O receiver module is installed on the left-most slot of the Series Six I/O rack and in addition to the versatility it offers the Series Six PLC, it also provides diagnostic functions. The power for operation comes from the backplane, and this module draws 1.2 Amps of maximum backplane power. The IC600BF830 advanced I/O receiver module has 2 D-type 37-pin connectors for connecting to modules both upstream and downstream of the I/O rack. This module also has 2 identical resistor +PAC sockets whose direction determines if the module will be used in an intermediate I/O rack or the last rack of a given I/O chain. The IC600BF830 advanced I/O receiver module has 12 diagnostic LEDs on the faceplate, and they are used for indicating the statuses and results of diagnostic routines that are executed by the module. This module comes with 8 DIP switches (SW1 through SW8, with SW8 not being set by default) for enabling and disabling various module functions.
