Technical Information

The GE Fanuc IC600BF831 Series Six high-density input module is a 32-point input module for the Series Six PLC system. This module is compatible with the GE Model 60 and the Series Six CPUs, and it can be used to provide a compact and optically-isolated interface between the GE Series Six backplane I/O bus and the Field digital circuitry or any input devices. The IC600BF831 high-density input module occupies only a single slot and it can be installed on either the Model 60 CPU I/O rack or the Series Six I/O Rack. The IC600BF831 high-density input module features 2 user-selectable operating modes which are the TTL mode, which can be used for an interface with the Field digital circuitry, and the 10 to 50 Volts DC mode for an interface with generic input devices and the I/O Bus.

 

The IC600BF831 high-density input module features 32 input circuits which offer cost-effective input points for maximum I/O-rack space. The IC600BF831 high-density input module’s inputs are arranged in 4 isolated groups of 8 inputs each, and each input group is updated on each I/O scan. All 32 input points have a common ground point, and there is 240 Volts AC continuous isolation between the Series Six PLC and the common. The IC600BF831 high-density input module is suitable for applications where low-cost input and high-density operation is required, such as the current-sinking/sourcing DC devices, the compact I/O system, and any instruments with TTL outputs. The IC600BF831 high-density input module requires power from the I/O rack or Series 60 rack, and it has a maximum backplane power draw of 200 milliamps at 5 Volts DC. The IC600BF831 high-density input module has 2 LEDs that indicate the module’s selected modes, and there are dual in-line package (DIP) switches on the circuit board that allow for the selection of a specific time-delay range on any particular input.
