The GE Fanuc IC600CB515 logic control module is an expanded logic control module. This module is manufactured as a member of the GE Series Six product line. The logic control modules, including the IC600CB515 module, come in 3 different versions, including the Expanded, Expanded II, and Advanced versions. It comprises a system clock, programmable read-only memory, and a microprogram sequencer. The IC600CB515 module is intended to provide control as well as timing signals to the backplane of the CPU. These signals are used by other modules and to send microprogram instructions to the arithmetic control module via a ribbon cable. The IC600CB515 logic control module has a wide range of features and benefits that allow it to provide optimal performance. It is compatible with most CPUs in the Series Six and Series Six Plus product lines for reduced spare parts and inventory costs. The 3 versions of this module are designed to provide a variety of functions.
The IC600CB515 logic control module has advanced functions which include essential functions, data handling, logic and signed arithmetic operations, user input and output control, and access to the R1025-R8192 devices through the extended table. The comprehensive functions of this module include floating-point arithmetic operations, expanded I/O, and register addressing. The module also provides Genius I/O diagnostic procedures and other communications control functions. The Expanded II functions of the IC600CB515 module include auxiliary I/O overrides, active override detection, faster solutions for the relay ladder logic, support for 64K of logic memory, and a dynamic checksum of the user logic for any changes. The operation of the system without a ribbon cable connected between the logic control module and the arithmetic control module causes unpredictable operations by the CPU.
